AlphaGeorge: Cambridge English Exam Practice

Practice for the Cambridge English exams, from KET to CPE, in the spare moments of your day.

What is AlphaGeorge?

AlphaGeorge is a practice app for the Cambridge English exams on iPhone and iPad. It covers six levels from A1 to C2, so you can prepare for KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE in one place.

The idea is simple. Turn the small gaps in your day into real exam practice. A five-minute diagnostic test places you at a level, and the Basic Course takes you through 66 units from there. You can start on the free plan and see how it fits your study before deciding on anything more.

What's Inside

A diagnostic test to start from

About five minutes, adapting to your answers. It places you at a CEFR level from A1 to C2, and you can retake it at any time.

A course mapped to the exams

Six levels and 66 units. From A2 up, each level aims at one exam: A2 Key (KET), B1 Preliminary (PET), B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and C2 Proficiency (CPE).

Each unit has can-do goals and Lessons A to E: grammar and reading, vocabulary, everyday English, writing and speaking
A Review and a Progress Check close each unit
A mid-course and an end-course test in each level estimate your level
Exam-style formats such as gap fill, word reordering, error spotting, word formation and key word transformation

Warm-up and drills

A five-minute daily warm-up of dictation and shadowing, and four short drills: Vocabulary, Conversation Phrases, Dictation and Shadowing. Speaking tasks use the device's speech recognition, and dictation answers are written by hand.

Made for small moments

It is built for the phone, so a few minutes on the train or between classes turns into practice that counts. Reminders can be set for the days and times you choose.

Free plan and Premium

The download is free, and no account is needed. On the free plan you have up to five hearts. A wrong answer costs one, and one comes back every five hours, or straight away if you watch a short ad.

AlphaGeorge Premium: ¥1,200 a month or ¥6,000 a year on the Japanese App Store (October 2026)
Premium removes ads, makes hearts unlimited, lets you replay completed lessons, and lets you lower the course level
