FAQ
What is this app designed for?
BrainDojo is an app for making brain training a habit.
It has 40+ mini-games, and each session can take as little as 10 seconds.
Is it free to use?
Yes. Every training except the new releases is free to play. The free version shows ads.
New releases are for BrainDojo Plus members. On days when a new release is part of “Today’s Training”, you can play it for free that day.
“Today’s Training”, the “Brain Dojo Check”, “This week’s goal”, the stamp calendar and the game settings are also free.
What is BrainDojo Plus?
BrainDojo Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly. With Plus:
- No ads are shown
- You can play every new release, anytime
- You support BrainDojo’s development
A free trial may be offered. You can see its length on the purchase screen in the app.
BrainDojo is meant to be safe and comfortable for everyone, from young children to the elderly. Subscriptions are what let us keep building new trainings and improving the app.
How do I check or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed in your store account.
- iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap “Subscriptions”
If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
After changing devices or reinstalling, use “Restore Purchases” in the app’s Settings to get your subscription back.
What is “Today’s Training”?
It is a daily set of trainings built from your answers to the first questions (what you want to work on, how much time you have each day, what time of day suits you, and so on).
To change your answers, go to Settings and choose “Redo the initial setup”.
What is “This week’s goal”?
It is the number of days you plan to train each week: 2, 3 or 5 days a week, or every day.
It doesn’t have to be every day. If you miss a day, you can make it up within the same week. Tap “This week’s goal” on the home screen to change it.
What is the “Brain Dojo Check”?
Once a day, three short tests measure your Processing Speed, Inhibitory Control and Working Memory.
The result is shown as a rank from 10th Kyu up to 10th Dan, with a radar chart.
Is there a widget?
Yes. Add the BrainDojo widget to the home screen of your iPhone or iPad, and you can start today’s training straight from it.
Can it be used offline?
Yes. The games work without an internet connection, so you can train anytime, anywhere.
Please go online at least once a week to keep your account active.
Is user registration required?
No.
You can start training as soon as you open the app, without creating an account. You can register later in Settings if you want to. The in-app Contact option needs an account, but you can reach us without one through the Contact page.
Will more content be added?
Yes. We keep developing new trainings and features, and we update the app regularly.
Newly added trainings appear as “New Release”, and BrainDojo Plus members can play them anytime.
How do I add favorites?
Long-press any content icon to add it to your favorites. Long-press it again to remove it.
In “Favorites”, press and hold a card, then drag it to reorder.
What is the Brain Meter?
The Brain Meter is an indicator that represents the level of brain activation. It increases by completing multiple training sessions daily. By keeping the Brain Meter at a high level, your brain becomes sharper.
Can I change the text size or turn off vibration?
Yes.
- Text in the app follows your device’s text size setting. The screens during a training do not get larger
- If you have turned on a reduce motion option in your device’s accessibility settings, the app’s animations are toned down as well
- Turn off “Vibration” in Settings to stop vibration, including the feedback for right and wrong answers during trainings
- Turn off “Share usage analytics” in Settings to stop sending usage statistics
